Reliable Arsenic Removal for Safer Groundwater

Reliable Arsenic Removal for Safer Groundwater

Arsenic is a naturally occurring element that can contaminate groundwater sources and pose serious health risks. With evolving EPA regulations and growing public concern, water utilities are under pressure to ensure their systems deliver safe, compliant drinking water—especially in regions where arsenic concentrations are naturally elevated.

ATEC Water Systems offers cost-effective arsenic removal solutions built specifically for groundwater applications. Our systems help water providers maintain compliance, reduce operational burden, and deliver clean, reliable water to the communities they serve.

Why Arsenic in Water Is a Serious Concern

Long-term exposure to arsenic in drinking water has been linked to various health issues, including cancer and developmental effects. Even at low levels, arsenic must be carefully managed. The U.S. EPA has set a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 10 ppb for arsenic in drinking water, and enforcement of these standards continues to tighten.

Solving Arsenic in Eastern Coachella Valley, California

For over fifteen years the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians lived with arsenic-contaminated wells that exceeded federal limits by as much as 60 %, forcing the tribe’s clinic, offices, and 260 members to rely on bottled-water deliveries. In 2022 a landmark 50-year partnership with Cadiz Inc. pledged up to $5 million to change that, at no cost to the tribe.

ATEC Water Systems installed its proven, chemical-free, regenerative wellhead filtration systems across multiple scattered sites in Thermal, California. By early 2024 the systems were fully operational, delivering water that consistently meets EPA and California standards and allowing the tribe to end routine bottled-water dependence at its core facilities for the first time in more than a decade.
